Design News for Page Elements

For information about page element parts, see Page Element Types.

1. From the Design tab, select “News” in the Display As field.

Note: You can include the News page element in Chapter or Personal Page Elements parts.

2. In the Display Name field, enter a name for the news section on the page.
3. Under Details, in the Title field, enter a title for your news weblog. This name appears on the personal page.
a. In the Link URL field, enter the website link that news readers such as NewsGator use to link to your site. This link should direct the website user to your news weblog or a general information page about your organization.
b. In the Description field, enter any additional information as required. For example, if your organization supports environmental advocacy, enter “Check weekly for updates.” To view the information you enter in this field, click XML for the weblog. For this example, the XML information for your description reads “<description>Check often for weekly updates</description>.”
c. In the Copyright field, enter a copyright notice for the news, if you have one.
d. In the Editor’s Email field, enter your email address or the person who is responsible for the content of your weblog.
4. Under Image Properties, click Select Image to add a picture. The Select Image From Image Library screen appears. For information about how to insert an image, see Insert Image.
5. In the Link URL field, enter a link to another website so you can share valuable information from that website with your site users.
6. Under Security Rights, to assign your website members rights to edit the news weblog posts, select Allow members to add, edit, and delete posts?
7. Click Save. You return to Parts.
