Deployment Requirements

Before you deploy the Blackbaud Data Warehouse, you must install Blackbaud CRM. System requirements for Blackbaud CRM are posted on the System Requirements page of the Blackbaud website.

With Blackbaud CRM in place, the following requirements are necessary to deploy the data warehouse on the database server.

• SQL Server

  • SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 with the latest service pack are supported for Blackbaud CRM versions 3.0 and prior.

  • SQL Server 2012 in compatibility mode 110 with the latest service pack is supported for Blackbaud CRM versions 2.93 through 4.0.

    Note: Compatibility mode 100 is not supported for SQL Server 2012.

  • SQL Server 2014 in compatibility mode 110 with the latest service pack is supported for Blackbaud CRM version 3.0 Service Pack 9 through 4.0.

    Note: Compatibility mode 100 is not supported for SQL Server 2014, and compatibility mode 120 is not recommended.

• SQL Server components

  • SQL Server Integration Services (part of SQL Server install)

  • SQL Server Analysis Services (part of SQL Server install)

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (part of SQL Server install)

  • For SQL Server 2012 in version 3.0 and prior, SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis Management Objects and SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16978.

  • For SQL Server 2012 in version 4.0, SQL Server 2014 Analysis Management Objects from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42295.

In addition to these requirements and the Blackbaud CRM system requirements, you should have:

• Administrative access to the database server where you deploy the Blackbaud Data Warehouse

• Administrative access to the SQL Server instance for the data warehouse

• Administrative access to the SQL Server Analysis Services instance where you deploy a Blackbaud Data Warehouse OLAP database

• Administrative access or at least write and execute access to the SQL Server instance for the Blackbaud CRM transactional database

• Blackbaud CRM application administrative access
