Constituent Source View

This table explains the nodes and fields most commonly used for a constituent query and the types of information they provide.

Node Name

Description

Constituent

This is the top node. It contains information found on the overall constituent record and on the Personal Info tab, such as Name, Constituent Type, Deceased/Inactive, Title, Lookup ID, etc.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Lookup ID

  • Name (First and Last Name fields)

  • First Name

  • Last/Organization/Group/Household Name

  • (Last Name/Organization Name)

  • Title

  • Type (Individual, Organization, Household, or Group)

Address (Primary)

Pulls information about the primary address on a constituent record.

Note: If you need address information in a query, we recommend pulling from this node to minimize duplicate rows.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Address (Primary)/Address

  • Address (Primary)/City

  • Address (Primary)/State or Address/State Abbreviation

  • Address (Primary)/Zip

Addressee/Salutation

 

An easy way to pull the name format marked as the Primary Addressee and Primary Salutation.

Note: If you need to pull a specific name format, you can use the Name Formats node. However, we recommend using a mailing process or export definition instead to minimize duplicate rows.

Constituencies

Pulls information about constituencies on records under the Personal Info, Constituencies Tab.

Contact (Primary)

Pulls information about an organization’s primary contact.

Note: This field only displays information for organization constituents.

  • Contact (Primary)/Name (Primary Contact Name)

Email Addresses

Pulls the information about the email addresses that exist on the constituent record.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Email address/Email address

  • Email address/Email address type

  • Email address/Primary email address (would be a Yes or No field to indicate if this email address is primary or not)

Households Belonging To

Pulls information about the household a constituent belongs to.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Households Belonging To/Household Constituent/Name

Interactions

Pulls interactions entered on the constituent record from the Documentation and Interactions Tab.

Member

Pulls information about the constituent as a member.

Notes

Pulls notes entered on the constituent record from the Documentation and Interactions Tab.

Phones

Pulls the information about phone numbers entered on a constituent record.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Phone/Number Phone/Phone type

  • Phone/Primary phone number (Would be a Yes or No field to indicate if this phone number is primary or not.)

Prospects

If your organization uses the Prospects area in Altru, you can pull Prospect Plan and Opportunity data from this node.

Recognition Credits

Pulls details about recognition credits applied to the constituent as in the Revenue, Recognition History Tab.

  • Recognition Credits/Type (What type of credit; for example: Soft Credit, Spouse Credit, Donor Credit, etc.)

  • Recognition Credits/Revenue Application/Designation Name

Registrant

Pulls information about event registrations for a constituent.

  • Registrant/Attended

  • Registrant/Event/Name

Relationships

Pulls information about the relationships the constituent has as indicated on the Relationships tab of their record.

  • Relationships/Related constituent name

  • Relationships/Relationship Type

Revenue

Pulls information about revenue the constituent has paid as in the Revenue, Revenue History Tab in the constituent record.

  • Revenue/Application Details/Application

  • Revenue/Application Details/Application Amount

  • Revenue/Application Details/Designation Name

Sales Orders

Pulls information about the orders the constituent has purchased through Daily, Advanced, Group, or Online Sales.

Commonly Used Fields

  • Sales Orders/Transaction Date

  • Sales Orders/Sales method type

  • Sales Orders/Sales Order Item/Type (Type indicates if the item was a Ticket, Merchandise Item, Tax, Discount)

Solicit Codes

Pulls solicit code information found on a constituent record under the Communications, Preferences Tab. An example of a solicit code might be No Mail.

Spouse

Pulls information about the constituent’s spouse.

Volunteer

Pulls information housed on the Volunteer Tab of the record if the constituent is a volunteer.
