Signatory Authorities
To ensure the highest level of security, major credit card companies require Blackbaud to collect detailed information about your organization and the person who is authorized to sign legal documents on its behalf. From Control panel, Settings, under Signatory authorities, you can manage your account's signatories, such as when there are changes to your staff.
-
Representative — Authorized by your organization to act as the primary representative of the account and to provide info about themselves and the account. Selecting a representative also marks them as an executive.
Note: You can only assign one representative per account. To replace them, edit the current representative and enter the new representative's info.
Warning: To comply with federal banking laws and "Know Your Customer" regulations, you must enter accurate info for your account's representative. Entering incorrect info will result in paused payouts.
-
Director — Serves as director of your account’s legal entity and is responsible for ensuring your organization meets its regulatory obligations. Typically, directors are members of your governing board.
Note: For most Canadian accounts, Blackbaud now adds and verifies directors. Canadian users are no longer always required to supply directorship details during provisioning.
-
Executive — Has significant responsibility to control, manage, or direct your organization.
-
Owner — Owns 25% or more of your account’s legal entity.
Note: All info, including personal data, is encrypted securely in compliance with Personally Identifiable Information regulations. For more information, see Blackbaud's Security Resource Page.
