Transaction Statuses

On a transaction record, Status shows the transaction’s processing result.

  • Gateway processingBlackbaud Merchant Services is processing the transaction.

    Note: For a batch, this status appears until all transactions finish processing. Large batches may take longer.

  • Gateway decline — The transaction was declined because of insufficient funds, incomplete information, a processing error, or another reason. For more information, see Gateway Declines.

  • Approved — The transaction was successfully processed.

  • Pending — For a direct debit transaction, Blackbaud Merchant Services is waiting for bank authorization. This usually occurs the next business day.

  • Validation error — An error occurred during validation, so the transaction did not complete.

  • Processing error — An error occurred during processing, so the transaction did not complete.

  • Not processed error — The transaction did not process for an unspecified reason.
