Donor States
The program provides the Donor states, assigned to Donor constituents based on their overall revenue activity over time. You can use these states to create selections of constituents with similar giving behavior. For example, you can include Downgraded or Lapsed donors in a targeted appeal communication to help them resume donations.

New donor |
Donors with a revenue transaction within the most recent 12 months, but not before the most recent 12 months. |
Upgraded donor |
Donors with revenue transactions within both the most recent 12 months and the previous 12 months, where sum amount of transactions for the most recent12 months exceeds the sum amount of transactions for the previous 12 months. |
Downgraded donor |
Donors with revenue transactions within both the most recent 12 months and the previous 12 months, where sum amount of transactions for the most recent12 months is less than the sum amount of transactions for the previous 12 months. |
Same donor |
Donors with revenue transactions within both the most recent 12 months and the previous 12 months, where sum amount of transactions for the most recent12 months equals the sum amount of transactions for the previous 12 months. |
Lapsed donor (1 year) |
Donors with a revenue transaction before the most recent 12 months, but not within the most recent 12 months. On the Revenue Dynamics report, these constituents appear as Lapsed New. |
Lapsed donor (2 years or greater) |
Donors with a revenue transaction in their history, but not within the most recent 24 months. On the Revenue Dynamics report, these constituents appear as Lapsed Other. |
Recaptured donor |
Donors with a single revenue transaction after a Lapsed donor state. If the donor provides an additional revenue transaction within 12 months, the program assigns the applicable state of Upgraded, Downgraded, or Same. If the donor does not provide an additional revenue transaction within 12 months, the donor returns to a Lapsed state. |
