Sites

Gateway ID

Enter the user name your organization uses to access the merchant account. The Blackbaud Payment Service uses this information to interface with the payment gateway to securely authorize and process credit card transactions.

Password and Confirm password

Enter the password your organization uses to access the merchant account. The Blackbaud Payment Service uses this information to interface with the payment gateway to securely authorize and process credit card transactions.

Your entry in both fields must be the same. Regardless of the characters you enter in these fields, only asterisks appear.

Currency

Select the type of currency to use with the merchant account and the selected gateway.

AVS level

The Address Verification Service (AVS) is fraud protection that verifies customer billing addresses submitted through online payment transactions. With AVS, the gateway issues a transaction to authorize the payment. In response to the transaction, the gateway receives information about the payment, including whether the street address and Zip code are correct. In this field, select whether to use AVS with the selected gateway and at what level.

CSC level

The Card Security Code (CSC) check is fraud protection that verifies the security code, or Card Verification Value (CVV2), of the credit card. The CSC appears on the card itself and does not appear on receipts or credit card statements. In this field, select whether to use the CSC check with the selected gateway and at what level.

Use 3DS processing

The major credit card providers have developed Three-Domain Secure (3DS) as the authentication standard for online transactions. Examples of 3DS authentication include Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. 3DS authentication requires the cardholder to register the credit card through the card issuer’s website and specify credentials used to verify online transactions.

To use 3DS authentication for Card Not Present transactions, select this checkbox.

Transaction processing wait configuration

To process transactions through the merchant account, the payment gateway divides the transactions in a credit card transmission file into groups, or threads, to process simultaneously. To configure the length of time a credit card processing process waits to check whether its transactions processed successfully, enter the number of seconds to allow for a transaction and the number of transactions the gateway includes in a thread.

When the process submits less transactions than the number entered in the Number of transactions per thread field, the program multiplies the actual number of transactions by the value in the Seconds to process record field to calculate the wait time. When the process submits more transactions than the number entered in the Number of transactions per thread field, the program multiplies the actual number of transactions processed by the value entered in the Seconds to process record field.

For information about the average wait time to process transactions and the amount of transactions to include in a thread, consult your payment gateway.

Credit cards

On this tab, in the Enable column, select which of the credit card types supported by the selected gateway to use with the merchant account.

If the selected gateway uses multiple payment processors to authorize transactions, select the processor to use with each selected credit card type.

Additional fields

On this tab, enter any additional information necessary to process credit card transactions with the selected gateway. For example, to process transactions with Payflow Pro, owned by PayPal, you must enter the name of your organization’s Payflow Pro partner.

For information about an additional field, contact the payment processor.
