Batch Data Entry Grid

Within the batch data entry grid, you can quickly access information about each record, add and edit records, and attach row comments. We recommend you familiarize yourself with the menus and toolbars for the various batch types, as well as the keyboard shortcuts and function keys.

In the batch data entry grid, each row of the spreadsheet that contains information becomes or updates a record when you commit the batch to the database. The selected batch template defines which fields appear in the spreadsheet and the order in which they appear. When a column is not applicable to the record you enter, the field is locked. For example, in a constituent batch, some fields for an individual constituent, such as Gender or Birth date, are not applicable to an organization constituent. When you select “Organization” in the Constituent type field, the program locks all fields associated with individual constituents.

On a revenue batch data entry screen, you can review the properties of the batch, which include the processor, approver, projections, and running totals. You add these properties when you add the batch to the database. The program tracks the current number of contributions entered and automatically updates the current properties of the batch. To view the properties of a revenue batch, select View, Show properties on the menu bar.
