First Name and Gender Defaults
The program includes thousands of first names with default gender assignments in place. To view and manage the first name gender defaults, such as to add a name or change a gender assignment, from Constituents, select First names under Configuration.
1. From Constituents, select First names under Configuration. The First Names page appears.
2. Under First names, select Add. The Add a first name screen appears.
3. Enter the first name for which you want to assign a gender default.
4. In the Gender field, select the gender to assign by default when a user enters the name.
5. Select Save. You return to the First Names page.
Tip: If your organization has upgraded to service pack 36 or higher, see "Review how first names populate gender or disable this default". In addition to enabling you to use a code table of user-defined gender values, service pack 36 also enables you to choose to permanently stop automatically populating the Gender field based on First names if desired. If you've upgraded to service pack 39, you can select defaults based on the values your organization previously configured. You configured the gender values using a user-defined code table.
