Distribution Groups
Pushpage (Newsletter) managers create distribution groups and use them to control who is sent Pushpages (Newsletters).

Select Core .

Select Communication.
-
Select Pushpage.
-
Select Distribution groups.
-
Select Create distribution group.
-
Enter the Distribution group name (which recipients will also see).

Select the Group type:
-
Private - no one can see/unsubscribe from it individually
-
Public - recipients can see the name of the distribution group and unsubscribe from that individual group

Test- used for internal testing purposes only
-

Select up to five lists. All users in the list are added to the group.
When users are added to or removed from a list, they're also added or removed from the distribution group. Thus, these are considered "dynamic users."

Under Add static users, search for users to include or exclude from the list. Select the user and then select Add to recipient's list or Remove from recipient list.

Select Save & exit.

To change an existing group:

Select Core .
-
Select Communication.
-
Select Pushpage.
-
Select Distribution groups.
-
Locate the group's row and then select Edit.

Enter your change.
-
Select Save & exit.

To view lists of users included in a distribution group:

Select Core .
-
Select Communication.
-
Select Pushpage.
-
Select Distribution groups.
-
Locate the group's row and then select recipients
-
Select a tab from the top of the screen to view which users from the group probably aren't receiving Pushpages (Newsletters) as expected.

Valid recipients - these users have at least one good email address
-
Missing/invalid email - these users do not have a valid email address
-
Bad emails - these users have an email address, but messages bounce or experience other errors (which may be temporary, such as low storage, or permanent)

Do not receive - these users do not receive these communications
-
Unsubscribed - these users have selected to opt out of these communications

Deceased recipients - these users have been marked as deceased and no longer receive communications
Tip: Many of values used for these tabs are also available as filters in user lists. Consider using lists to find and update user records. See lists. Consider reviewing sent emails to monitor and improve how many users receive and open various email addresses. See sent email.

To view the Pushpage (Newsletter) jobs that have used or will use a distribution group:

Select Core .
-
Select Communication.
-
Select Pushpage.
-
Select Distribution groups.
-
Locate the group's row and then select Jobs.

Select filter to limit which jobs appear.

Select View.
-
For each job, you may be able to:
-
view the Pushpage (Newsletter) issue
-
view reports about recipients and readership
-
copy, edit, or delete the job
-
pause, cancel, resend the job

Jobs can be scheduled in several days in advanced, or sent immediately by scheduling the job for the soonest 5 minute interval. See send jobs.
Tip: To send Pushpage (Newsletter) issues to multiple distribution groups, you must create a new job for each group. Alternatively, you can create a larger distribution group that includes the people who would otherwise be two smaller groups. Refer to Manage distribution groups and Send jobs.
To send a issue to an existing group:

Select Core .
-
Select Communication.
-
Select Pushpage.
-
Select Distribution groups.
-
Locate the group's row and then select Send.

Select the Template for the issue you want to send. Then select the Issue.

Schedule the job using the Date and Time fields.

Enter the Job name, e.g. Alum Newsletter 4-19.

Enter the From name and Reply email.
-
Enter the Subject line, the subject line will appear in the subject line of the recipient's e-mail.

Select whether the test job should be sent as an HTML or link.

When finished, select Schedule job.

If a distribution group should no longer be used, mark it as Inactive. To re-enable the group, mark it Active for use.

If a distribution group has never been used, you can delete it.
To remove an existing group, locate its row and then select Delete. Confirm your changes.
