Custom report access

Schools determine who has access to view and run custom reports.

  1. From a capability, such as Core, select Reporting.

  2. Select Reports. A list of existing reports appears.

  3. Select Custom report access. Then choose how to control access for who can view and run custom reports:

    • Manage role access

      • To grant access, search for a role by name. Choose role from the results. Select + Add to roles. Select Save.

Note: Don't see the role you expect? A platform manager should enable the corresponding security task for the role. Once the security task is enabled, then the role will appear as an option.

      • To revoke access, find a role in the list of roles whose users have access. At the start of the row, select Delete (trash icon). Select Save.

    • Manage user access

      • To grant access, search for a user by name. Choose a user from the results. Select + Add to users. Select Save.

Note: Don't see the role you expect? A platform manager should enable the corresponding security task for a role and the user should be a member of the role. Once the security task is enabled for one of the user's roles, then the user will appear as an option.

      • To revoke access, find a user in the list of users with access. At the start of their row, select Delete (trash icon). Select Save.

Security roles and tasks for custom reports

Platform managers use security tasks to enable employees to view, run, and manage reports. Consider enabling the these tasks for members of security roles at your school.

  • Custom report upload access (52712)

When enabled for a role, its members can manage access to custom reports. User with this task use Custom report access to configure access for others.

However, the options that appear in Custom report access depend on the View custom report (52717) task. Similarly, access to upload a new custom report depends on the Upload custom report (52715) task.

  • Upload custom report (52715)

  • View custom report (52717)

When enabled for a role, the role and its members appear as options for Custom report access. Users need access via both this security task and Custom report access to view custom reports.
