Update financial aid award and status

Change the financial aid award amount and decision to update the original information or generate credits for the amount granted.

Note: Changing the amount granted has no impact on credits that have already been posted to the general ledger.

To get started, navigate to Billing management, hover over Financial aid in the navigation, and select Financial aid awards.

To update the financial aid award and status:

  1. Select the context menu () and choose Edit financial aid.

  2. Change any of the existing sections, noting that credits are only generated when:

    1. The School decision is set to Approved.

    2. The Candidate decision is set to Accepted.

      Note: The corresponding names for candidate and school decision may differ at your school. To learn more about defining candidate and school decision terminologies, click here.

  3. Select Save.

Updating the amount granted regenerates applied credits to respect the new amount. Verify that the credit distributions are correct by visiting the credit summary page and redistributing the amounts between charges.
