Assessment Question Banks
When building assessments,
Note: At this time, question banks cannot be shared between
To access questions banks in Faculty, select My Day, then Question banks. Select a bank name to open the details page. The related sub-banks are listed on the left along with the number of questions contained in each sub-bank. Banked questions without a sub-bank specified are stored in a system-generated <Ungrouped> sub-bank. Select a sub-bank to display the included questions and use the arrows on the right to expand question details.
Manage question banks

Select My Day, then Question banks.

Select New.

Enter a Bank name and optional Bank description.

Optional: Select Add sub-bank.

Enter a Sub-bank name and optional Sub-bank description.

Select Save.
-
Repeat step 3 to create additional sub-banks.

Select Save.
-
Select My Day, then Question banks.

Select the context menu next to a bank, then Edit bank details.

Make the appropriate changes, such as editing the Bank name or optional Bank description.

When finished, select Save.
You can only delete a bank if the included sub-banks contain no questions. You must delete the questions or, alternatively, you can inactivate a bank rather than delete it.

Select My Day, then Question banks.

Select the context menu next to a bank.

Select Delete bank.

Select Delete to confirm the deletion.
Manage sub-banks

In My Day, Question banks:
Select the context menu next to the bank, then Edit bank details.
OR
Select the bank name.

Select Add sub-bank.
-
Enter the Sub-bank name and optional Sub-bank description.

Select Save, then Save again.

In My Day, Question banks:
Select the context menu next to the bank, then Edit bank details.
OR
Select the bank name, then select the sub-bank from the list on the left.

Select the edit icon next to the sub-bank.
Note: You cannot edit the <Ungrouped> sub-bank name or description.

Edit the Sub-bank name and optional Sub-bank description.

Select Save.
You can only delete a sub-bank if it contains no questions. Deleting a sub-bank does not affect questions already added to assessments.

In My Day, select Question banks.

Select the context menu next to a bank, then Edit bank details.

Select the edit icon next to the sub-bank.

Select Delete.
-
Select Save.
Manage questions
In addition to adding questions to banks during the assessment building process,
Questions can be added to multiple banks and sub-banks as well as added to the same banks and sub-banks multiple times. To clean up duplicate instances of a question in a bank or sub-bank, delete the duplicates.
Note: There is no link between a question in a bank and that question on an assessment. Editing or deleting a question in a bank does not update or delete that question on assessments where it is in use.
You can add questions to a bank directly or from the assessment builder.

In My Day, Questions banks, select the bank.

Select a sub-bank from the list on the left.

Select Add and choose a question type:

Essay
-
Fill in the blank
-
Matching
-
Multiple choice
-
True/False
-

Enter the question details for the selected question type.

When finished, select Save.
To access the assessment builder from Faculty, select My Day, then Assignment Center. Select the context menu next to the assessment, then select Edit.

In the assessment builder, select Manage questions, then Question banks to display all questions in the assessment.
Note: From the assessment builder, all questions on the current assessment are available to add to question banks and sub-banks, including questions already added to a bank and sub-bank.

Optional: To view the full details for a question, expand it by selecting the arrow at the beginning of the question row.

Select a Question bank and Sub-bank for any question you want to bank.
Tip: Select a Default bank and Default sub-bank to set the same bank and sub-bank for all questions in bulk.

When finished, select Save.
Editing a question within a bank does not update the question as it exists on assessments. You must update the question on assessments separately.

Select My Day, then Question banks.

Select the question bank.
-
Select the sub-bank containing the question.
-
Select the context menu next to the question, then select Edit.

Update the question as needed.
-
Select Save.
Deleting a question from a bank does not remove the question from assessments.

Select My Day, then Question banks.
-
Select the question bank.
-
Select the sub-bank containing the question.
-
Select the context menu next to the question, then select Delete.

Select Delete again to confirm the deletion.
You can use Copy to create a new instance of a question in the same bank and sub-bank or in a different bank and/or sub-bank.

In Faculty, select My Day, then Question banks.

Select the question bank.
-
Select the sub-bank containing the question.
-
Select the context menu next to the question, then select Copy.

Select the bank and sub-bank for the new instance of the question.

Select Save.
You add your assessment content, including questions, in the assessment builder. In addition to creating new questions in the builder, you can select questions from your banks to add to your assessment.

To access the assessment builder from Faculty, select My Day, then Assignment Center.

Select the context menu next to the assessment, then select Edit.

Under Questions, select Add, then select From question banks.

Select a question bank on the left. The selected bank displays on the right.
Tip: Select Filter to limit the available questions by question type.

Select the arrow next to the bank to expand it. Expand the sub-banks and questions as needed to identify the questions you want to add to your assessment:

Expand a bank to view the associated sub-banks.

Expand a sub-bank to view the questions in the sub-bank.

Expand a question to view the full question details, including answer choices if applicable.

Select questions to add to your assessment:

Select the checkbox next to a bank to add all questions in the bank to the assessment.

Select the checkbox next to a sub-bank to add all questions in the sub-bank to the assessment.

Select the checkbox next to an individual question to add it to the assessment.

Optional: Repeat steps 4-6 to add questions from other banks to the assessment as needed.

When finished, select Save.
