Move a Student to Another Section
Academic Group Managers can transfer an individual student from one section of a course to another section of the same course. For example, managers can transfer a student from Algebra I - 1 to Algebra I - 2.
Note: Grades are available to the teacher of the new section from the Grades - For Dropped Courses report, which is available from the gradebook. Grades will need to be reentered in the gradebook for the new class. Administrators can view assignment grades for dropped classes in the Assignment - By Student for All Sections report. Additionally, teachers can display students who have dropped their class in the gradebook by selecting More, then Show dropped students.
Transfer gradebook grades
When transferring a student to another section of the same course, you can select Transfer gradebook grades to copy assignment grades from the original class section to the new class section. Gradebook grades are only transferred for assignments that are shared between the original and new class sections. Additionally, the gradebook grades are not removed from the original class section - they appear in both sections.
Grades that are not transferred will need to be reentered in the gradebook for the new section. The teacher of the new class section can view the student's grades in the Grades - For Dropped Courses report, which is available in the Reports menu in the gradebook. Administrators can view assignment grades for dropped classes in the Assignment - By Student for All Sections report. Additionally, teachers can display students who have dropped their class in the gradebook by selecting More, then Show dropped students.

In Academics, selectPeople Finder and search for the student.

Select Schedule.

Ensure the school year you want to edit is selected.

Select Edit enrollment.

Select the context menu, then select Transfer next to the course and term you want to edit.

Enter the As of date when the student is enrolled in the new section.

Select the new Section.

Select Transfer gradebook grades to move the student's assignment grades to the new section.
Note: Assignment grades are only transferred for assignments that are shared between the sections of the course.

Select Save.

In Faculty, select Classes and choose the class.
or
In Academics, select Group Finder, then search for and select the class.

Select the Roster tab.

Select Manage roster.

Select the context menu next to the student, then select Transfer.

Enter the As of date when the student is enrolled in the new class section.

Select the new Section.

Select Transfer gradebook grades to move the student's assignment grades to the new section.
