Academic Profile Conduct Tab

Note: This help topic covers the new 360 User Profile, which is being released to schools in waves starting in late March 2023. It displays in Academics when you select a student or alumnus via a list or by searching for their name in the People finder. The new profile contains the same features and capabilities as the older Academic Profile, but arranged under new tab headings in a more accessible format.

The Conduct tab displays a student's Infractions and Consequences. You can also report a new infraction for a student from this tab.

To report an infraction:

  1. Select + Report an Infraction.

  2. Under Infraction occurred on, select the date. You can either use the calendar picker or enter the date in the format MM/DD/YYYY.

  3. Optional: Enter the time the infraction occurred.

  4. Under Student, the student's name is automatically filled in. To add another student, select the search box, begin typing a name, and select the student's name when it appears.

  5. Select an Infraction type from the dropdown menu.

  6. Optional: If your school is using Infraction Points, enter a number of Points for the infraction. These will be added to the student's total. Some infraction types might have a point value automatically associated with them. You can edit this value by typing a number or using the up and down arrows beside the number.

  7. Enter a Description. This will be visible to the student(s) involved and their parents.

    Optionally, select the available placeholders to use them in the description. These placeholders will be replaced by the student's information when you save the infraction. For example, if you are adding an infraction for multiple students, you can use the "Student First Name" placeholder and the message to each respective student will automatically swap in that student's name.

  8. Optional: Enter Confidential comments for internal use only. These will not be visible to students and parents.

  9. Optional: Under Location, enter where the infraction took place.

  10. Select Save as draft or Send. If this infraction type requires approval, select Send for approval.

Infractions saved as a draft will not be published to anyone other than the author, and can be edited later. To edit a draft, either return to the Conduct section of a student's profile or go to the Conduct tile in Faculty view and select the number beside Infractions reported by me today.

You can review a student's infractions and consequences for an academic year via the Conduct tab. Check to make sure you are looking at the desired academic year by toggling the year dropdown menu near the top right of the screen.

On the Infractions tile, you can see the student's total number of infractions, number of infractions with impending consequences, and (if applicable) infraction points for the academic year. Select the down arrow beside an infraction to see more details. Select the context menu (three dots) beside an infraction to Edit infraction, Delete, or Add additional notes. If you delete an infraction, it will no longer count toward the student's totals, points, or consequences.

On the Totals tile, you can see the Total count and Total points given for each infraction type the student has received.

Note: Only users with the Conduct Manager role can edit completed infractions. If you are a Conduct Manager, you can approve or deny infractions via the Academics Home dashboard under Items to review. For more information, see Approve & Deny Infractions.

If the student has any consequences for the selected academic year, they will appear on the Consequences tile. Use the dropdown menu to decide which consequences to display (All, Pending consequences, Completed consequences, or No-show consequences). From the context menu beside a consequence, you can choose:

  • Edit consequence: Make your changes, then select Save.

  • Complete consequence: If the consequence is Pending, this will change its status to Completed.

  • Mark as no show: This indicates that a student did not show up for their consequence. This enables a faculty member to create another consequence for the student that is labeled as No Show. For more information, see Conduct for Faculty.

School employees can access and edit different parts of a student profile depending on their assigned Roles and the school's settings. Roles can be modified and assigned to users in Core. Users with the following Roles can access the Conduct tab:

  • Teacher (the Conduct task must also be enabled)

  • Coach

  • Non-Teaching Staff

  • Advisor

  • Platform Manager

Users with the following Roles can Report an Infraction:

  • Teacher

  • Coach

  • Non-Teaching Staff

  • Advisor

Note: Only users with the Conduct Manager role can edit completed infractions.

Users with the following Roles can view the Totals tile:
