Grant Awards
Award managers can grant awards either via a student's Academic Profile or via the Manage Awards page in Academics. Awards are associated with a group type (academic, activity, advisory, athletic, or dorm) as well as with a specific school year and term.
By default, any user with the Award manager role can grant and edit awards. An administrator with access to Manage Roles in Core can enable any role to perform these tasks by selecting the tasks Manage Awards, Delete Award, Edit Award, and Record Awards. For more information, see the help topic Roles list and tasks .

You can grant awards to students in bulk with a data import in Core. If, for example, your school has selected students to receive awards but would like to keep their selection a secret until after an award ceremony, one way to do that would be to place the awards in a spreadsheet to be imported after the ceremony.
To perform a data import, you will need to have access to the System tools in Core. If you do not have access, speak with a platform manager at your school.
-
From the persona menu, select Core.
-
Select System tools, then Data import.
-
Select Create import job.
-
Under Category, select Student. Under Import type, select Awards.
-
Give the import a Name (for example, "Spring 2028 Academic Awards")
-
Under File layout help, select View file layout help. Here you will see a list of required and optional fields (required fields are in bold) for importing awards by host_id or user_id.
Select Detailed view to see a description of each field.
Select Sample file to download a CSV spreadsheet file laid out with all of the necessary column headers for the import type. The spreadsheet will have filler text below the column headers; you can delete this text and replace it with values specific to your school.
-
Select X or Cancel to return to the Import menu.
-
Open the sample spreadsheet on your device, fill in the columns, and save the file.
-
Returning to the Import menu, under Upload files, either drag the completed spreadsheet onto the Drag a file here icon or click the icon to browse the files on your device.
-
Optional: Enter Comments about the import. These comments are for internal use and will be visible from the Data Import list.
-
Select Process now to begin the import.
