Content Editor Access
Content editors handle specific types of content for specific audiences and purposes. A platform manager determines this access, so the right people keep each part of your school's content current.
For example, give a volunteer access to edit photos for one athletic team, or let the admissions office update only their own events.
Types of Content
Select Core, Security, Content editor access. Then select the type of content that needs editors.
What Content Editors Can Edit
Each group's access covers specific content types, such as announcements, photos, or events. Your school defines its own content categories, and each category belongs to a content type.
For most types of content, you'll determine the level of access for each section. The group then edits only the content types you select.
Manage Editor Groups
After you select a type of content, you can:
-
Create a group, then choose its members and their access.
-
Edit a group to change its name, members, or access.
-
Delete a group when it's no longer needed.
-
Manage editors in bulk to update membership across several groups at once.
-
Export group or user details for use in a third-party spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel.
Note: When a user becomes a member of a content editor group, they automatically receive the content editor role. See security roles. When you delete a user from a group, they can retain the security role but may lose access to the specific content, audience and purpose the group handled. If a user is a member of multiple groups, with different access, the user's access is the maximum based on all their groups. If a user is no longer a member of any editor groups, then the security role is automatically removed. These role changes are logged in the user's role history.
Tip: Consider including content policies and responsibilities in your school's Policies and procedures guide.
