Towards the end of January, the Academics team made some quality of life improvements to the former Attendance Categories area. As many of you may be aware, Attendance has seen plenty of changes over the past couple months, getting refreshed with a new modern style for a better experience.
The same can be said for the new Attendance Reasons, which can be found by going to the Attendance Hub from Academics and then selecting it under the Settings category.
The biggest change you’ll notice is that we’ve ditched the page from being split up into different categories and instead replaced it with a cleaner and more modern SKYUX style list. You can see counters displaying the total number of categories and reasons, use a filter to find a specific item in the list, or select +Add reason to create a new one.
When you select +Add Reason, pick a category for it either by using the search bar to find an existing one or selecting New to add your own. With the Category selected, the list of associated Reasons appear to help prevent duplicates from being added, as well as +Add Reason, which adds a new line for you to fill out.
It’s worth noting that specific School levels can be assigned to individual reasons, so when faculty enter attendance, they’ll only see reasons for the school level they teach in rather than everything.
But Wait! There's More!
The Record Method for Attendance also saw some big changes in January as well, getting overhauled with a more modern UI to help make the information listed here easier to read without having to click on anything. While it still breaks things down between various school levels, Record method and editing attendance information can easily be seen without having to edit the section.
We hope these changes have helped make your experience better overall and for more information on these updates, make sure to check out our online help. Stay tuned for more changes and enhancements on the way in a future journal!
