Academics Content Category Settings

To modify the Content Category Settings for an Academics related category, select Academics from the persona menu followed by Content > Class pages.

From this page, seven categories are available: audio, events, links, news, photos, text, and video. Each category features various settings which a user can modify after selecting Edit to the right side of the screen. These settings affect various elements specific to each category such as the width and height to images, whether to allow captions and descriptions with videos, or if news items will allow comments or if they'll need approval first.

Audio content settings include:

  • Allow titles.

  • Allow captions.

  • Allow for any and/or long audio descriptions.

Event content settings include:

  • Include long descriptions for event items.

  • Include brief descriptions for event items.

Link content settings include:

  • Set the maximum width and height for standard, zoomed, and thumbnail images.

News content settings include:

  • Include long descriptions for news items.

  • Include brief descriptions for news items.

  • Allow or disable comments and whether or not approval needs to be given first before a comment is public.

  • Set the maximum number of images that can be used.

  • Set the maximum width and height for standard, zoomed, and thumbnail images.

Photo content settings include:

  • Allow titles.

  • Allow captions.

  • Allow any and/or long descriptions.

  • Set the maximum width and height for standard, zoomed, and thumbnail images.

For Text items, schools can modify image settings.

  • Max number of images.

  • Enable captions on images.

  • Set the maximum width and height for standard, zoomed, and thumbnail images.

Schools can enable/disable long (or any) descriptions, titles, and captions from here.
