Student Preview of Assignments for Teachers

With Student preview, teachers can view an assignment as students will see it. The student preview excludes any personally identifiable student information, so it's useful if teachers want to screenshare or project an assignment for their class without revealing any student information. Changes teachers make in the preview, including uploading files or adding text, do not save and are only intended to illustrate how features behave for students.

Student preview includes the following:

  • Header: The header displays the Class, Assignment Type, Max Points, Assigned date, and Due date. If an assignment does not allow online files submissions, teachers can manually update the Status in the header as a student would.

  • Description: Displays as it appears for students.

  • Links & DownloadsTeachers can select links and downloads to view pages and attached downloads.

  • TasksTeachers can add and delete tasks in the preview.

  • FilesTeachers can attach files from their device or Google Drive.

  • Evaluation: Teachers can see the Evaluation tile if the assignment is associated with Mastery or a Rubric. Mastery skills will be listed and selecting See rubric will display the rubric flyout.

  • TextTeachers can select Edit to enter text and see what it looks like on the assignment submission page for students.

  • LTI: The title of the selected Learning Tool displays as it does for students. Teachers cannot access LTI links in the student preview.
