User Details
When admins select a user name in the list of users, the email address and assigned security appear for review.
When admins make users inactive or change their roles, the details on the Users page are not automatically updated. Refresh the browser to view the latest changes.
At the top of a user profile, admins can view the name and the email address associated with a user's Blackbaud ID. The credentials may be different than the ones originally used to send the invitation.
Admins can't edit the name or email address for users who authenticate through Blackbaud's secure authentication service. Users enter their names and email addresses when they create Blackbaud IDs, and only they can change those values on their Blackbaud ID profiles. However, if your organization sets up single sign-on (SSO) ot authenticate Blackbaud IDs, your network administrator can manage user names and email addresses through your identity provider.
To adjust a user's level of access to feature areas in a Blackbaud solution, admins can select Manage roles from the action bar on the user profile. If you use multiple Blackbaud solutions, you can also provide access to a solution for the first time.
After you edit user roles, the user's access to feature areas and solutions is updated within several minutes without receiving and accepting another invitation. For more information about managing roles, see Edit user roles.
To prevent a user from accessing a Blackbaud solution, admins can select Remove solution access from the action bar on the user profile. This denies the user access to all feature areas in the solution and also removes all roles and any admin rights. For more information about removing solution access, see Remove solution access. Or to only remove access to some feature areas, see Edit user roles instead.
To make a user inactive, select Make inactive from the action bar. For more information, see Users.
To link the user to a different one in Education Management, select Manage roles. Under Security groups, select the X in search to remove the Education Management user and then search for the one you need. After you save, the users link.
Note: If the Education Management user is linked to another user, they won't appear in search results.
To view or edit a user's access in Education Management, select Manage security. For more information, see Education Management Security Groups.
To delete a user's association with an organization, admins can select Delete from the action bar on the user profile. This deletes the user record and completely removes access to Blackbaud solutions, including any admin rights. Only the user's audit history remains, and you can't make the user active again. If you only need to make the user inactive or remove access to Blackbaud solutions, see User Details or Remove solution access instead.
On a user's profile, under Action history, admins can view the most recent access-oriented actions related to the user and environment being viewed. The actions can include initiation actions, admin status changes, roles changes, name or email address changes. The two categories for actions:
-
Access changes — displays actions affecting the user
-
Initiated actions — displays actions performed by the user
If an internal Blackbaud process makes a change, "Blackbaud" appears under Actor in the Access changes section.
