Storyboard That

Storyboard That is a digital storytelling tool that enables users to create visual content, such as storyboards, presentations, and animations.

The integration requires Blackbaud's Learning Management System's Gradebook as assignment grades added through Storyboard sync back to it.

Note: You cannot use the Storyboard That LTI integration while impersonating a teacher or student.

Note: LTI 1.3 is available for Storyboard That. You should not have both an LTI 1.1 and 1.3 version of a learning tool enabled at the same time.

An Integration Manager can set up Storyboard That as an LTI provider.

  1. In Core, select Settings, Integration settings, then Learning tools.

  2. Select Add provider and select Storyboard That as the Provider type.

  3. Select LTI 1.3 tool.

  4. Set the status to Active.

  5. Enter a Provider name for the tool, such as Storyboard That.

    Tip: Faculty will see the Provider name when creating assignments, so choose a name teachers can easily identify for the learning tool.

  6. Enter an optional Description.

  7. Select the Default Assignment Type.

  8. Enter the following URLs provided by Storyboard That.

    Note: You can find these URLs on the Storyboard That LTI configuration page in your active Storyboard That administrator account.

    • Launch URL

    • Login URL

    • Deep Linking URL

    • Public key set URL

  9. Under Privacy, choose if and when to Send user name and Send user email to Storyboard That.

    • Always: The data is always sent.

    • Https Only: The data is only sent if the avenue is secure via a security certificate on the URL.

    • Never: The data is never sent.

  10. Under Give name, select which name to use when sending user name:

    • Preferred name, if available: If no preferred name exists for a user, their first name is sent instead.

    • First name, always

  11. Under Custom Parameters, you can add any custom parameters Storyboard That supplies by selecting +Add parameter to enter a Parameter and Value.

  12. When finished, select Save.

Once Storyboard That is set up as an LTI 1.3 provider tool, teachers can select the Storyboard That tool from the +Add dropdown when creating assignments.

Note: With LTI 1.3, teachers enable Storyboard That on an assignment by selecting it from the +Add dropdown when creating the assignment. It cannot be enabled within the settings of an existing assignment.

  1. From the Assignment Center, Assignments tab on a class page, or from a class gradebook, select +Add, then select the Storyboard That tool from the dropdown.

    Note: Do not select +Add > Assignment from the dropdown as you will not be able to select the Storyboard That LTI 1.3 tool within the assignment settings.

  2. In the Storyboard That Add Assignment modal, enter your assignment details.

    Note: You may be presented with Storyboard That's User Agreement the first time you add a Storyboard That assignment.

  3. Select Optional Settings to review and modify your Storyboard That assignment settings as needed.

  4. When finished, select Submit to save the assignment.
