Data Integration for Connect Raiser's Edge

Before you set up Connect Raiser's Edge, review which types of data the integration handles and how it handles them.

Ensure the Relationship and Reciprocal Relationship are set.    These will sync based on whether or not they are selected to come over in the Connect RE settings.

'Blackbaud's Education Management' Record Type If data is in RE7, but not 'Blackbaud's Education Management' Notes
Students N/A Required record type for Connect RE. Information for current and incoming students is included. Information for past students is also included, but you'll map it separately when you decide how to handle constituent codes.
Parents See notes If the relationship does not match Education Management we will not change any existing relationships and we will create new relationships if they are different at all.  Could require Raiser's Edge cleanup.
Grandparents See notes If the relationship does not match Education Management we will not change any existing relationships and we will create new relationships if they are different at all.  Could require Raiser's Edge cleanup.

Employees See notes We will bring in business relationships information if it is present in Education Management. Information for current and past employees is included.

If the address is not matched (because it is a new address or because fields are missing) we do not remove anything from Raiser's Edge. Instead, we will create a new address and the previous address will be preserved. This could potentially lead to duplicate data in Raiser's Edge.

If contact types are only in Raiser's Edge, you can specify to ignore them if they are missing in Education Management.  This is controlled in the settings. For example, you may have a Home 3 number in Raiser's Edge that you are not tracking in Education Management and do not want it to be marked inactive/removed.

When a record in Raiser's Edge includes business information, but there is no matching business information in Education Management, we will preserve the information in Raiser's Edge. However the preserved business will no longer be Primary. If the business names match, the data is updated as follows.

Relationship will not be set by the Connect RE integration.
