Gradebook

Gradebooks are where teachers record daily grades for assignments, graded discussions, assessments, and other types of student work. Gradebook grades can be used to calculate grade plan grades Grade Plan Grades are what you allow teachers to record during a Grade Plan, whether they are comments or standard grades. If Grade Plans are like buckets, then Grade Plan Grades are like the contents of those buckets. for report cards. To access a class gradebook from Faculty, select Classes, choose a class, then select Launch gradebook.

Report card grades, or grade plan Grade Plans are periods during an academic year when grades are recorded. They are like time-sensitive buckets that teachers drop grades into. Grade plans are added to Grade Plan Groups. grades, are entered in Grading, typically at the end of a term.

Teachers enter two main types of grades, assignment grades and report card grades.

• Assignment grades for quizzes, tests, projects, homework, etc., are entered in gradebooks throughout a term. For more on information on entering assignment grades, see Working with Gradebook.

• Report card grades are entered during grading periods A grading period is the link between the grades recorded in a course and the report card. There should be a unique grading period for each instance when report cards are issued. called Grade Plans that are set up by the Grading Manager at your school. Grade plans are typically at the end of a term, but may also be scheduled throughout a term to report on student progress. Teachers enter report card grades, comments, and assessment skill grades in Grading, which is accessible from a class page or from My Day.
