Skills-based grading periods A grading period is the link between the grades recorded in a course and the report card. There should be a unique grading period for each instance when report cards are issued. are used to tie skills-based marking periods Marking periods are times during an academic year when grades are recorded. They are like time-sensitive buckets that teachers drop grades into. Marking periods are added to Grade Groups. to report cards . All marking periods that are tied to the skills-based grading period will be on the report card .

  1. From the persona menu, select Academics.

  2. Select Grades and then select Grading Setup.

  3. Click Skills-Based grading periods.

  4. Under Select Filter Options, choose the School year, Group Type, and School Level from the filter options. Select View to update the page.

  5. Select Add next to the term.

  6. Enter a unique Description. This field is limited to 10 characters. The description will be a column header for grades on the report card.

  7. Enter a unique Sort Order. A smaller Sort Order number will cause a skills-based grading period to appear higher in the sorting order.

  8. Click Save & Exit.

This process must be repeated for all skills-based grading periods.
