Microsoft Word Document Restrictions
Due to limitations in the conversion and the features that Word supports, some HTML code does not convert properly into Word format.

The following items do not convert properly when the template is generated as a Word file. While these items do not convert properly, they do not prevent you from generating your file as a Word file.
Background Images
Tables that have been set up to display background images do not show the images in the generated Word file.
Anchors
Anchors that have been set up in the template do not function properly in the generated Word file. Any text or images that have been set up as links to the anchor continue to appear in your generated file. However, they do not link the recipient to another area in the document.
Newsletter and Event Templates as Word Documents
When you attempt to generate Newsletter or Event templates as Word documents, you may receive an error message in Word, and the template may not open correctly or look exactly like it does in the HTML editor or in emails.
Email is the primary use for these templates. If you must generate your Newsletter or Event template as a document, we recommend generating a .pdf file.

The following items do not convert into Word format. Therefore, you cannot generate templates that contain these items as Word documents.
Nested Lists
Templates that have been set up to contain lists with multiple levels are not eligible for Word generation.
Note: Templates without multiple levels are eligible for Word document generation.
Tables with Vertical Merged Cells
Templates that contain tables with vertical merged cells across two or more rows are not eligible for Word generation.
Note: Templates with horizontal merged cells are eligible for Word document generation.
If your template contains either of these, a message appears to prompt you to create a .pdf file. In addition, when you generate a document for a template that contains these, the Word option is disabled.
