Payers and Billing Item Exceptions

Clients can pay charges for other clients.

From a client record, under Payers, specify default clients who are responsible for paying charges for the current client. You can edit payer details including the payer's relationship to the client and how much they're responsible for paying.

You can also add and view billing item exceptions. An exception is a billing item charged to a different client or a billing item associated with different distributions than its defaults.

Edit Payers

  1. From Receivables, Clients, open a client's record.

  2. Under Payers, select Edit.

  3. Search for and select one or more payers and update the responsible amount, if needed.

  4. Under More, select whether to distribute evenly. When you do, payers are responsible for equal amounts.

  5. Select Save.

Add Billing Item Exceptions

  1. From Receivables, Clients, open a client's record.

  2. Under Payers, Billing item exceptions, select Add.

  3. Search for and select a billing item to add as an exception.

  4. Search for and select one or more payers and update the responsible amount, if needed.

  5. Under More, select whether to distribute evenly. When you do, payers are responsible for equal amounts.

  6. Select Save.
