Edit Allocation Business Rules

Note: We’re laying the groundwork to fully manage indirect cost allocations. To prepare, you'll notice new view-only rules for checking budgets. Look for the ability to edit these rules in a future release.

To promote a consistent and tailored experience to your organization, enter the way you want to identify management and money manager fees throughout Financial Edge NXT. Then specify how to handle budget checking for indirect cost allocations.

  1. From Settings, Allocations, Business rules, select Edit.

  2. Enter labels to identify management and money manager fees across your organization.

  3. When checking budgets for indirect cost allocations, select a budget scenario to use.

    A scenario is a single instance of your organization’s budget for a given fiscal year.

  4. Next, choose how to handle budgets for projects based on period, fiscal year, and expenditure preferences. You can be flexible and always allow (or warn first). Or, you can prevent expenditures all together.

  5. Save your updates.

    Tip: You can edit and apply these rules at any time.
