Income and Expense Report for Transaction Codes
Under Income and expense report, review a breakdown of transaction activity across accounts.
Tip: You can customize up to five transaction codes from General ledger, Settings, GL setup, Transaction codes. For example, you may want to use labels such as "Grants" or "Performance" for more targeted tracking based on your organization's needs. The labels you enter are used as dashboard names. Prior to customizing your label names, these are initially listed with a generic transaction code label and you can choose to view them with or without starting and ending balances. For more info, see Transaction Codes.

Transactions is pulled from the Transactions filter and displays the activity associated with the transaction code. When including all transactions, you can use this to quickly identify specific activity.

Starting balance displays the beginning balance based on the Post date filter.

Revenue displays income activity — such as tickets sales or tuition.

Expenses displays money used to pay for a service or product — such as office or administration supplies — associated with the transaction code.

Gifts displays income — such as donations — associated with the transaction code.

Transfers displays the amount of money moved between entities — such as funds — associated with the transaction code.

Net change displays the total amount of income vs. expenses and transfers associated with the transaction code.

Ending balance displays the ending balance — after activity such as revenue or expense has been calculated — based on the Post date filter.
