Design a Chart Template
A chart template is a visual representation of all or selected accounts from the general ledger.
Tip: To create an editable copy of the template, from the database view, open an existing template and select Save as.
Use a category's menu to build and design your report to reflect balance sheet and income statement information. You can also use the menu to move lines up, down, left, or right as needed.

Insert a detail line as a child - Insert a new account detail line below the Balance Sheet or Income Statement lines.

Insert a header/total as a child - Insert a new header/total line below the Balance Sheet or Income Statement lines.

Insert a detail line at this level - Insert a new account detail line at the selected line in the tree view.

Insert a detail line under this header/total - Insert a new account detail line below the selected line in the tree view.

Insert a header/total at this level - Insert a new header/total line at same level as the selected line in the tree view.

Insert a header/total under this header/total - Insert a new header/total line below the selected line in the tree view.

Delete - Choose a line in the tree view and select Delete. When you delete a header/total in the tree view, all nested line items are also deleted.

Move up, down, left, right - Change the level and position of a selected line in the tree view.
Tip: In addition to using these menu options to move the level and position of a line, you can also drag and drop lines to different locations.

When you add a detail line to the template, you are prompted to format account details.

Enter a caption for the account, use formatting options to further define the caption, and select a category.

Enter details to specify the number of lines to skip after each account, or the last account. You can select up to 10 lines.

Under Choose accounts, select accounts by range or advance filtering. Note that any projects excluded from a range are also excluded in reports.

To save and continue working, select Save.
To save and return to the list of templates, select Save and close.

When you add a header/total to the template, you are prompted to format header and total information.

Enter a caption for the header, use formatting options to further define the caption, and select a category.
Note: If you select "Income statement," you must specify whether to show the debit balance as a negative or positive amount.

Enter the number of lines to skip after the header. You can select up to 10 lines.

Under Format total, enter and format the label for the new total line.

To save and continue working, select Save.
To save and return to the list of templates, select Save and close.
