Manage Custom Field Types
Custom field types, or attribute types, can help define specialized information about your records, such as information that you want to track, but for which no field exists.
You can define custom fields for a variety of data types, including text, date, yes/no, number, currency, or table. On a record, you can view this specialized information under Custom fields.
You add a new custom field type by selecting Add a custom field . You can also edit or delete existing custom field types using the menu in the custom field list.
To help locate a custom field types, you can use the search and filters above the list. For information about these filters, see Custom Fields Filters.

From the Fields and tables page, select Add a custom field under Custom fields.

Enter the name of the new custom field type.

In the Subledger field, select the area or module you want the field to appear.

In the Displays on record type field, select the record on which the field will appear.

Specify whether or not the field is Required or One per record.

In the Input type field, select the field format. Data types include text, date, yes/no, number, currency, and table.
Tip: If you select "Table" as the input type, you can select an existing table to use, or add a new table by selecting "New table" in the drop-down menu.

Select Save.

From the Fields and tables page, under Custom fields, select the menu next to the custom field type you want to edit, and select Edit.

From here you can edit certain aspects of the custom field, such as the field name, input type, and whether the field is required. You cannot edit the subledger or record type.

Once you've made your edits, select Save.
You delete custom field types from the Fields and table page under Custom fields. To delete a custom field type, select Delete from the menu next to the custom field type you want to delete.
Warning: You cannot delete a custom field type if it is currently in use. To verify a custom field type is not being used, check the In use column in the grid.
