Invalid Segment Combinations

Use invalid segment combinations in Financial Edge NXT to prevent accounts from using specific segment values together. For example, mark Department 02 and Fund 01 as invalid if your organization doesn't use that combination.

From Settings, select General ledger, then select GL setup, Account setup, and Invalid segment combinations.

For related account settings, review Account Setup, which covers account structure, category code ranges, and default descriptions.

Edit Invalid Segment Combinations

1. Under Invalid segment combinations, select Edit.

2. Select Add an invalid segment combination or Add another invalid segment combination, then enter the segment values.

3. To check whether the combination is used in existing accounts, select Validate.

4. If the combination matches existing accounts, review the account, description, status, and invalid segment combination for each result. Select Close to close the list.

5. To remove a combination, select Remove next to it.

6. After you finish adding, editing, or removing combinations, select Save.

Tip: Use an asterisk as a wildcard to match digits zero through nine.
