Smart Import Mapping

When importing data, matching fields from an external file to the correct system fields has traditionally required manual review and setup. Differences in field names, formats, or file structures can make this process time consuming and error prone. For details about adding an import, see Add an Import.

Smart Import Mapping is powered by Blackbaud AI, and helps simplify the import process by automatically analyzing import files and suggesting accurate field mappings directly within the import workflow. Mappings are automatically generated when a new parameter and import are added. These suggestions appear during the import workflow, where users can review, accept, or adjust them before completing the import. When uploading a new import to an existing parameter, users can select Update mapping to regenerate and apply mapping suggestions based on the new import file.

Note: Over time, Smart Import Mapping learns from prior imports to improve future mapping suggestions, helping organizations import data faster and with fewer errors.
