Manage Dashboards
Dashboards allow you to select the insights you want to display so you can view and analyze your data. From Dashboard builder, view and manage dashboards under Dashboards.
When you create or select an existing dashboard, you see Dashboard builder, where you can find the available insights out of the box. With Insight Designer, you also see insights your organization designed. To add an insight to the dashboard, find it under Insights and drag it to the screen. Then, you can drag the insight anywhere on the screen, and re-size it. You can also edit the insight in one of two ways:
-
To edit an insight, hover over the insight and select Go to insight.
-
To edit an insight's properties, hover over the insight and select Edit properties.
All dashboards include a date range filter. You can add more filters to the dashboard to further customize the data you see. To add a filter, drag it from the Dashboard builder window to the top of the page.
Note: For more information about how date range filters are applied to different insights, see Dashboard date range filter.
Filters apply to the whole dashboard, and you can use the drop-down menu on each filter to select what the insights display. You can also remove any filter from individual insights if you don't want that filter to affect the data displayed on an insight. To do this, select Edit properties on the insight and clear any existing filters.
Note: When you edit a filter's selection, only the first 2,500 items for a filter display. If you have more than 2,500 items on a filter category and you choose to Select all, the filter includes all items, even those not displayed. However, you can't select a specific item that is not included in the first 2,500 unless you select them all.
To better organize your dashboard, you can add page elements. To add a page element, drag it from the Dashboard builder window to where you want it on the page.
-
Horizontal dividers are lines that separate your dashboards into section. To customize the type of line and color of the divider, select Edit properties on the divider after you add it to your dashboard.
-
Text boxes add text to your dashboard. For example, you can use text boxes to label sections on your dashboard, or to add context next to an insight. To edit the text and choose its size, select Edit properties on the text box after you add it to your dashboard.
Once you finish creating your dashboard, you must select Save or Save and Close to save your changes. To rename the dashboard, edit the description, or to manage access to the dashboard, select Properties. Select Preview to see how others will be able to view the dashboard.
Warning: Previewing the dashboard does not save your changes.
