Manage Families

In Families, Manage Families, you can access a dynamic list of existing families and review their Application Status. You can also select a student's Application ID to access their Family detail page.

Under Application Status, you can quickly view how many families are associated with each status category.

Statuses include:

  • Open: Application started, but not completed or submission has not been paid for

  • Submitted: Application paid for and submitted, awaiting supporting documents

  • Documents Received: Supporting documents received, awaiting review

  • On Hold: Application missing documents, family emailed

  • Verified: Application reviewed and verified, awaiting school's decision

  • All Applications: Total of all applications. This total includes applications with the Imported status.

  1. To make locating a family easier, you can filter the content using the Filter by option available at the top of each column.

    Tip: To view families associated with a specific status, select the desired status in the Application Status header across the top of the page.

  2. Select the family name to open the Main Family Page.

    Tip: Under Application Data, IRS Data Transfer indicates which income verification method the family selected when completing their application. No indicates they selected Upload all documents. Yes indicates they selected Allow IRS data transfer. For more information, see IRS Integration.

From the Families page, select Export to download a .csv formatted document of the information included on this page.

  1. In Families, Manage Families, select at least one family.

  2. Select Delete Applications.

Note: This is a soft delete. To restore a deleted application, contact Support.

There may be instances where your school wants to move an application to Verified status before it is processed by Blackbaud's Review Team. This may occur if

  • your school decides to grant or deny an award for a family without a review of their application.

  • a family decides not to attend, or the school denies enrollment after the aid application is submitted.

  • the school wants to stop sending email reminders to a family with an application that is not in the Verified status.

You can manually update applications in the Submitted, Documents Received, or On Hold statuses to Verified status before they go through the standard review process.

Note: When you select Verify Applications, the selected applications are removed from the standard review process and will not be processed by Blackbaud's Review Team.

  1. In Families, Manage Families, select at least one family with an application in Submitted, Documents Received, or On Hold status.

  2. Select Verify Applications.

  3. To proceed with removing the selected applications from the review process and updating them to Verified, select Yes, verify it!
