Encrypt Existing Fields

Encrypted fields offer an additional way for you to securely store data, especially when collecting sensitive information. While it is recommended to encrypt fields when first creating them, you can also enable encryption on existing fields - even after receiving responses.

Warning: Encrypted fields cannot be used in filters, searches, or automation. Encrypting an existing field may impact conditional logic in the form.

Note: Encryption is only available for specific field types. For more information, see Encryption and masking options by field type in How do I protect sensitive data in forms?.

1. Navigate to the Program Setup > Custom Forms > Form Fields tab.

2. Select the ellipses to the right of the field and then Encrypt field.

   

3. Click on Encrypt to confirm the action and enable encryption.
