Rotate the API Key

Note: Rotating an API key is only applicable to users who have previously created and applied an API key.

For security reasons, Blackbaud recommends creating a new API key annually. The steps outlined here can be used to generate the API key upon expiration or if it has been lost.

1. Navigate to the Settings > API Configuration > GrantsConnect APIs area.

2. Find the API and select Regenerate key from the item’s options.

This will display a new API key. Similar to creating the key initially, it is recommended that Administrators save the key to their records.
