Root Element Attributes

The root elements for the data form specs (AddDataFormTemplateSpec, EditDataFormTemplateSpec, ViewDataFormTemplateSpec) have attributes which identify and categorize the feature defined by the spec. Four of these attributes are common to all specs: Author, Description, ID, and Name. These come from the CommonTypes.xsd schema.

When you create a data form template spec with an Add New Item wizard such as the Add Data Form Template Spec (SP) wizard, the values for these are filled in for you. For example if you enter:

 ThisExampleSpec.Add.xml

In the Name field of the Add New Item screen, the Name and Description attributes will appear as:

Name="This Example Spec Add Data Form"
Description="A data form for adding this example spec records" 

For the ID attribute, a new GUID is supplied by the wizard. Author is also supplied by the wizard. Author is based on an entry you make when you install the SDK. Depending on the type of data form, other attributes include:
