Report Building Tools

Report Management was about how reports are surfaced and how to manage them. This section is about tools you can use to build RDL files and Excel reports. RDL files are at the heart of the classic style of reports that appear in a Blackbaud Infinity application. Report Definition Language (RDL) is an XML based language for defining a report. RDL editors appear in Report Builder and Business Intelligence Development Studio. Because the RDL files are XML, RDL files can also be edited in an XML editor. But be careful to check against an RDL schema when using a generic XML editor.
