Instance Tracking Records Tab
The instance tracking records are the native WF4/AppFabric tracking records that are emitted by the workflow service during the milestones of the workflow instance. The tracking record number is a sequential number emitted by the WF4 runtime. When a workflow terminates or is canceled the Reason column will show info about why, such as the error message. The Infinity workflow service AppFabric application is configured to listen for these events and write them to the Infinity/Blackbaud CRM database so that they can be displayed on this tab or queried for analysis and troubleshooting. For long-running workflows, it is useful to see when the workflow was instantiated and persisted because over the course of several days there may have been many episodes of execution and perhaps many periods of idle time. This tab gives you some insight into that history of episodic execution and is useful for workflow debugging and operational troubleshooting.
Tip: Most end users would not need to review this tab. Blackbaud recommends the system administrator opt to not grant permission to this datalist to users who would not need to participate in operational debugging of a workflow.
