Preview a Web Page
Preview your content to see how the page looks before you send it out for approval or publish. CSS styles are only visible in Preview mode and live pages.
In Preview, you can test-drive conditional content since you can view the page as a non-administrative user (anyone with a record in Constituent360), instead of the default, anonymous visitor.
If a preview user is a member of one or more Groups that are used in the page structure, the Group attributes further refine and control the preview. See Add Users Tool for more information.
Note: The Preview step may not be available if the Website Administrator has not configured the Content Type for it.
In Preview, items referenced from a Web page only display depending on their status and how they are referenced. For example, if a page contains a:
-
List Component - A List displays only Live and Approved (but not published) items. Expired, Submitted, and Draft items do not display.
-
Section Navigation Component - Navigation previews display a link only if the referenced folder navigation link set includes a draft item. The link does not appear on the live page until its target item is published.
Note: If your browser displays a warning about web page content, it means that the resources used to create this page (such as JavaScript or CSS files) are stored in a location that does not support both http and https. Move your resources to a location that serves content over both https and http. You can ignore the warning in Preview to view all content. Be aware that if you do not move your resources to a location that supports both http and https, browsers will display this same warning to page visitors.
