Operating in Center Mode
When importing constituents using a Custom Constituent Import operation with MultiCenter enabled, the following rules apply:
In single center mode, during import:
Constituent Record Change:
If the constituent doesn’t exist, add it.
If the constituent exists, update the existing record with the import data regardless of whether they are currently in the center or any other center.
Add the constituent to the center’s member group, regardless of whether that constituent is already in any other center.
Group Assignment:
If the group is in the center (has the same security category), then add the constituent to the group.
If the group is not in the center (has a different security category), then return an error and do not add the constituent to that group.
Interest Assignment:
If the interest is in the center (has the same security category) or in the "General" security category, then add the constituent to the interest.
If the interest is not in the center (has a different security category) and not in the "General" security category, then return an error and do not add the constituent to that interest.
Center Email Opt-In:
If the Center Email Opt-in Flag is set to Yes or True, the constituent will be opted-in to Center email. This cannot be used for Constituents who have previously opted-out of Center Email; those constituents cannot be imported into the Center and will be flagged in the Custom Constituent Import results as an error.
If the Center Email Opt-in Flag is set to No or False, the constituent will be opted-out of Center email.
If the Center Email Opt-In Flag is not specified (blank), then the constituent will be marked as No Preference -- but will receive Center email.
Center Removal:
If the Center Removal Flag is set to Yes or True, the constituent will be removed from the Center.
