Letter to the Editor Alerts
With Letter to the Editor (LTE) Alerts, you create alerts for your most important issues, then encourage constituents to send letters to specific media targets about those issues.
Media targets include:
-
Media organizations, such as online and print news sources, TV stations and networks, and radio stations
-
Specific individuals within media organizations, such as editors, executives, and researchers
Get started by creating a Letter to the Editor alert.
Luminate Online maintains a huge database of media organizations and individuals, similar to the database for legislative targets of Action Alerts. You can specify a core set of targeted recipients for each alert, from which advocates can choose. You can also display specific geographical targets when you use Constituent Matching by ZIP code, and add custom Survey-type questions to gather information from advocates.
In particular, you provide "talking points" to guide advocates in composing their letters. This ensures that target recipients get a more varied response from multiple constituents.
Advocacy Reports measure your efforts by region and other criteria so that you can fine-tune messages, identify relevant audiences, and improve lobbying efforts. You can configure Letter to the Editor reports in Report Writer, using a variety of options depending on your needs.
