Add an RSS Feed Component to a Web Page

Once you have RSS enabled for alerts or news, you should add an RSS component to a page to provide your users with a link to your RSS feed. (If you have both feeds enabled, you will need to add components for each.) For users who are new to the technology, you may also want to add some simple directions.

Add an RSS Component to a page as follows

  1. In the WYSIWYG window click the Component button.

  2. Select Content > RSS Link.

  3. Click Insert in the Action column beside the appropriate feed.

  4. Select whether to Embed the URL in the specified button and choose the button style or Generate a Link Only.

  5. Click Insert to return to the WYSIWYG window.

  6. Most aggregators contain a generic link that will take subscribers directly to your home page (double-clicking the Feed Name serves that purpose here) and an item specific link that will take users to the specific item being viewed (double-clicking the alert Title serves that purpose here, opening either the Take Action page or the Make-a-Call page).
