Quick Email

The Quick Email application provides a streamlined approach to creating and sending individual email messages quickly. Although you can still target audiences and schedule Quick Email messages with delivery options, you will not have access to the full features that are available when using Email Campaigns to create and send your electronic messages, such as associating a group of messages together, creating message variants, and conducting A/B Testing.

You have the option of configuring email messages for either single-stage delivery or two-stage delivery. The default configuration is single-stage, in which an audience is generated and an email message sent in a single step. In two-stage delivery the email audience is generated well in advance of the time the email message is to sent, typically shortly after midnight on the day the mailing is to go out. How is this helpful? Consider an instance when you might schedule a message delivery on Monday afternoon to go out at 9 am the next morning, Tuesday. With single-stage delivery, at 9 am on Tuesday the audience would be generated and then the email sent. If you had a very large mailing, the time required for the audience to be generated could delay the delivery significantly beyond 9 am. With two-stage delivery, the audience would be generated hours before the delivery was to start, typically shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning. The entire mailing would be sent promptly at 9 am. You can use two-stage delivery for any scheduled delivery, including quick email messages, campaign messages and message variants.

To enable two-stage delivery you must contact support to request that the site option, EMAIL_DELIVERY_STAGING_ENABLED, be configured with a value of TRUE. After that site option is set up, two-stage delivery will automatically occur for all scheduled messages, including variants.
