Message Filtering
Using filters, you can automatically define specific audiences to receive your message.
Enabled filters display in the Delivery Details table on the Configure Delivery and Review Pages, as well as after the recipient audience has been calculated.
Filtering options show:
Filter Conditions - In the Filters Applied area, the eligible members from the target audience groups to receive the message are determined. Members who do not meet the criteria are filtered out and are not sent the message.
Note: A member of a target audience group who is a member of a Do Not Email Group is considered ineligible and is not counted among recipients.
Filtered Out - This column shows the number of eligible members of the target audience who WILL NOT be sent this message because they do not meet criteria in the sets of filters configured for the message or the built-in system filters. This column displays after the recipient audience has been calculated or the delivery results are reviewed.
Calculated Target Audience - This shows the number of email messages that will be sent after the target audience is reduced by subtracting each member who:
Overlaps between target audience groups, which means that each member is counted only one time although they may actually be members of multiple groups within the target audience
Is also a member of a Do Not Email group
DOES NOT meet all of the Filter Conditions applied to the message delivery
Meets any of the following built-in system filters that are applied by default:
Accept email is UNCHECKED in their profile
Deceased is recorded in their profile
Prior email HARD BOUNCE is listed in their profile
Profile is INACTIVE
Other problems with their contact information (such as an invalid email address)
Each time you use the Resend action to send a specific message again, eligible members who have already been sent the message are automatically filtered out and the message will be sent to only those eligible members added to a target group since the last time the message was sent.
