Create a Content Filter

When you create or edit a content filter, you complete the fields in the New/Edit Content Filter dialog. The dialog is most often accessed through the properties dialog for a list-based component, such as the List component. A Website Administrator can also directly access the Content Filters interface from the Design/Setup area of the Reports and Tools page.

What you select from the Content Type menu determines which additional fields become available. Each field is an optional limit for the filter you are creating. You can filter items using any, all, or none of the fields.

If you leave the Content Type menu set to <Any type>, you can filter by date range or by the folder location of the content items. If you select an individual content type, you can also filter by content categories or related items if the Authoring Wizard Properties step for that type includes a field based on a set of categories or on related items.
