Insert a Remote RSS Feed Component
Using the RSS Feed Display component, you can insert an external RSS feed into (the body of) a Web page, a single display template, or a CMS wrapper. You can specify formats compatible with RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, or ATOM.
On a live Web page, this component displays (as HTML) dynamic content as published in the external RSS feed. The live page reflects the RSS feed criteria as well as changes to the originating feed. For instance, the feed items listed are updated automatically when a new item falls within the feed criteria. Displayed information typically includes a title for each feed item. The title displays on your live page and also serves as a hyperlink to the item on the originating Web site. RSS feeds often have other fields as well: which of those fields display on your live page depends on what RSS feed display template is selected to "merge" with the remote feed.
The RSS Feed Display component includes three core configurations:
-
The URL of the RSS feed source
-
A display template specifically configured to include available fields in the remote RSS feed. Only information for the included fields will show on the published Web page. As usual, the display template helps manage overall component output presentation.
-
A style sheet to provide further presentation options. Your Website Administrator must assign one or more style sheets to the RSS Feed Display component to make them available for selection within the component dialog.
