Using the Duplicate Finder (Center Level) Task
The Duplicate Finder (Center Level) task will be available (in the Tasks application under Data Management) if you are using Centers. This task is similar to the site-wide Duplicate Finder task, except that it is designed to identify and resolve duplicates for constituents within a single center.
This task is categorized and locates potential duplicate contact profiles within the Center associated with the Security Category of the task. Like the site-wide Duplicate Finder, you can have only one Center-Level Duplicate Finder task at a time (per Security Category) and you must manually run the task (from the Task List) each time you need results.
When the Duplicate Finder (Center-Level) task completes and duplicates have been located, a Task results group will display on the To Do List page (in the Tasks application). By clicking on the name of the results group, you can see the list of potential duplicates and then compare and merge or delete profiles. As you reconcile a group of duplicate profiles, they are removed from the group.
Any constituents listed in the task results group that are not removed will display in the group with the corresponding name that is located in the Task Results folder in the Groups application.
Note: An administrator must have a Center-Level Duplicate Finder Task Management permission type/role in order to create and/or use this Task. The actions that you have available for working with the task results will also depend on your level of Contact Management permissions. For example, granting Center Administrators the ability to "View Non-Sensitive Contact Data No Tasks No Reports" will permit them to View and Remove potential duplicate records from the results list. On the other hand, granting them the ability to "Manage Non-Sensitive Contact Data No Tasks" will permit them to actually resolve duplicates by comparing and merging records. Read more in Understanding Contact Management Roles.
See Using the Duplicate Finder (Center Level) Task for detailed instructions for creating, running, and using the results of this task.
