TeamRaiser Event Document Library

You can upload document files from your computer or a shared network resource and store the files in an online repository for this event. You can link to these document files from the Links menu in the content editor.

You can upload popular file types, including traditional document files (like PDF and HTML files), as well as audio and video files (including MP3 and QuickTime Video files), however some files may require specific software to open and run them. For example, you can upload and link to a Windows Media file (.wmf), but site users who click the file link must have the Microsoft Windows Media Player to open and view the file content.

When you upload a document into the Event Library, you will supply a title that displays as the page name in the Web browser and a description that will help other event managers and administrators understand the purpose and use of the document. You can also supply search keywords and phrases to help other event managers and administrators locate the document.

If you intend to upload files over 2MB in size, it is important to consider any upload restrictions that your Internet browser may have. You may also want to avoid using large files because your site visitors and users may not be able to download/open the linked files in a reasonable amount of time, which is especially true for site visitors and users with Internet dial-up connections.

Uploaded documents are stored in a Document Versions List. You can update the content in the document by uploading a new version of the file, which preserves any links made to the document in Web pages or emails.

Once you link to the document from a Web page or email, you can preserve the link but change the content by uploading a new version the file.

To view the current content of a document a document, you can download it from the Documents List, which opens it in another browser window. Note that you can also download each version of the document from the Document Versions List.
